Here in Glendale AZ and Phoenix Metro, we seem to get more phone calls regarding air duct cleaning and allergies (winter is not considered the height of allergy season in Arizona). Well researchers have identified one of the culprits - Christmas tree molds. The good news is that there are some things you can do to minimize the impact of any allergens you may bring along with your tree. These include:

1. Hose off the tree before you bring it into the house.

2. Vacuum regularly around the tree (use a hepa vacuum please).

3. Use an artificial tree (not my favorite, personally...)

4. Keep the tree on the patio until right before Christmas (again, not one of my favorites, but certainly works).
